From Tournament Director David Schiller (dschiller01@hamline.edu):

For those of you who are missing your favorite game during this trying time, now is the time to come and join the camaraderie of outdoor handball. We had an amazing time in June when we tested the playing format, and things went without a hitch. I received nothing but positive feedback with requests to do it again. So I’m doing it again. Block off your last weekend in August, the 29th and 30th.

Date: August 29-30, 2020

Location: Clayland Park, W Hewitt Pl., St. Paul, MN 55104

Format: A and B divisions. Each division has a singles and doubles component.

Cost: $50 – This gets you in a singles and a doubles division, and pays for new balls, safe, individually wrapped snacks and drinks for everyone who shows up, including neighbors, and prize money for first prizes. Please Venmo your entry to @dschiller01 or pay me in cash.

Traveling Players: If you are reading this and you are from out of state, we warmly welcome you to come play the game we all love and join in our camaraderie. Contact me and I will arrange local lodging for you and there will not be any fee for those willing to travel the distance to come join us.

Come, play and join the fun. Kick off the end of summer with us. If it’s enticing for any of you, I believe we will have at least one of the Race for Eight 4-Wall pros joining our fun. I won’t say who, just going to have to show up and find out.

-Hinders are called movements in one wall. It is the responsibility of the player hitting the ball to call it, and the referee will verify that it was, in-fact, a legitimate call by the player.

-First to serve is decided by throwing the ball from the base line, low throw on the wall wins the serve.
