Cincinnati, OH, WPH Press, 6/9/19- R48 #1 Killian Carroll and the “Flying Cordovas” made their way to Cincinnati on the second weekend in June to kickoff the 3-Wall handball season. Carroll was making one of his first professional 3-Wall singles starts, while the Flying Cordovas appeared in the 2018 USHA 3-Wall National semifinals and finals, respectively.

The Queen City 3-Wall event kicked off on Friday afternoon will a sensational clinic coached by K Train and Lucho. “We had 37 people attend the clinic, it was fantastic,” exclaimed tournament director and sponsor Bob Bardeau.

Carroll defeated Lucho in Saturday’s semifinals and aimed for the Cordova sweep in Sunday morning’s Open Singles final. Killian and Danos were renewing their spectacular rivalry from the 2018/19 Race 4 Eight season that saw Killian and Danos split head to head matchups. The pair dodged the Queen City rain and split the first two games, dazzling the Ohio gallery with outrageous shot making. Carroll and Danos would both serve for the match at 10 in the tiebreaker, with Carroll able to clinch the title with a fly kill to win, 11-10.

“The final was a lot of fun,” stated Danos. “Killian has a lot of control when he takes the ball out of the air, so he would put it down really well. We had some really good rallies.”

Lucho Cordova teamed with Pat Myers to defeat Danos and Phil Kirk in the Open Doubles final.

“Great handball,” barked Bardeau. “The tournament was a big success!”

The 3-Wall season continues next week with the 41st Annual Tim Nass Kansas City 3-Wall at the KCAC. Stay tuned to the WPH for a recap from the KCAC next weekend.
