Lenning and Abe were playing, then Sean backed out. DC was playing and got hurt. Robles has a back issue. Abe would probably play with a strong partner. Greg Rameriz was looking after Chapa backed out. Suhn Lee said no. __________________ http://www.thehandballstore.com

Moreno and Morales won't even be challenged. Consider playing it handicapped. We do that for our holiday doubles and its alot of fun for the players and fans. If there are 10 guys and ranked 1 thru 10, Luis would have to play with 10. This would make it more fun for everyone. Otherwise he's just too good! Many more players would enter and still believe they have a chance to win and certainly have fun. Especially in tournaments with single elimination. __________________ An official member of the viper

Originally, Chapman, Moreno, Lenning committed. It would be a toss up with those teams. I agree with the handicap format. People rarely run tbem but the players love em once they get going. In handicap doubles each seed has a great chance at winning.
In Salt Lake in a couple weeks we have a handicap doubles pro/am that will seed 32 players... the top 16 will get matched up by flipping the #17-32 seeds. Ie #1/#32, #2/#31, etc __________________ http://www.thehandballstore.com

Doesn't the RFC run a handicap format? I hear the RFC is one of the most fun tournaments of the year. I tried to play in it, but I spent the entire day in the parking lot. |

Open Finals @ 11am:
Moreno/Morales vs Robles/Ramirez
Semi: Morena/Morales def Yokoyama/Carlos 14-12, Robles/Ramirez def Harris/Leonis 8-(20)-8.
As for the Handicapping, The team of Meneses/Lopez no showed/no call(Meneses) Lopez showed and played in the A's. I was not informed until match time of this. I thought about splitting up Moreno and Morales, but because of the late notification of the other match I was unable to make calls. I realize the two things really don't have anything to do with each other, I was just too preoccupied. Usually we get enough talent that the open is a true open, but this year was different. We are in talks now of possibly making some changes to the tourney because of the low turnout, maybe combinding the singles and doubles into one event. Cost are getting high, we are making it right now on our wonderful sponsors Findlay Toyota and WPH. I realize one tourney doesn't make a trend but we will be watching the participation closely going forward.
Thanks again WPH for your continued support!!
We will post pictures of the draws once play has ended....

| Robles pushed Luis and Chip to a tie breaker, giving the fans a fun match. The young pro's picked on John's right side player who hung in there keeping the rallies going but Luis has to much of the perfect game to lose. Joe Harris the tournament director and Reno Joe had a tie break and good showing against Robles. The chicago guys who won A,B,C singles division's last year, all got beat. Thanks to Joe, Bruce and other Vegas locals, we'll see you 3rd week in August. The best looking team award go's to Ashley and Jennifer. It was fun to see guys reactions as those girls hit the crap outta the ball!!!
